Hailemariyam Amare won the second gold medal for Ethiopia in the men’s 3,000m steeplechase on the third day of the 22nd African Athletics Championships in Mauritius. Tadesse Takele came second and won the third silver medal for Ethiopia.

The 22nd African athletics championship women’s 3000-meter steeplechase was won by the current Ethiopian National champion Workwuha Getachew, and her compatriot Zerfe Wondmagegn finished 2d and won the silver.
