Ethiopia finished 5th in the 22nd African Athletics Championships. Ethiopian Athletes won a total of 14 medals with 4 Gold, 6 silver and 4 bronze.

Hailemariyam Amare won the second gold medal for Ethiopia in the men’s 3,000m steeplechase on the third day of the 22nd African Athletics Championships in Mauritius. Tadesse Takele came second and won the third silver medal for Ethiopia.
