Addressing this year’s graduates of the Addis Ababa University on July 16/2022 President Sahle-Work Zewde said “ I congratulate you for reaching this day after having overcome the social, academic and at times political obstacles that you have faced along the way including current issues. “She said you are expected to “use your knowledge and skills in order to seek solutions to the serious problems our country is facing”. She added they should not expect job opportunities from government only and encouraged them to explore other possibilities such as entrepreneurship. 
The President awarded gold medals of merit to the students with the highest grades. 5,058 students graduated from Addis Ababa University in various fields.
